I had been working for a hotel company in Boca Raton, Florida for a few years. I had been promoted a few times since I had been there for so long. My recent position was in the marketing department. I helped with group sales as well as with the image of the hotel. It was mediocre because it paid the bills but I felt uncomfortable with the routine. My colleagues were great and I knew what was expected from me but I still felt like it wasn’t my calling. I wanted more. So I researched for a while until I found something I thought I would not only be passionate about but excel in: Massage Therapy. There was a career college in West Palm Beach called Lincoln Technical Institute that offered that program. They also offered other programs like medical assisting, electrical technology and engineering, cosmetology, automotive. The school had real hands-on training that could prepare me for a successful career in massage therapy. The website stated that the instructors at Lincoln Technical Institute had real-world experience in that field which meant they knew what they were talking about. Also, the technical school offered day and night classes so I had the option of still working at the hotel in Boca Raton to help me out financially. Plus, they also offered financial aid for those who qualify. I submitted my contact information online and soon got a reply from the school. I’m glad to say that I went through with it. It was truly an amazing experience that was rewarding and challenging. Lincoln Technical Institute also helped me out with job placement so I didn’t have to do it all on my own. Thank you Americolleges for helping me take the first steps to an amazing and rewarding career. I will forever be grateful. I couldn’t have found the technical school of my dreams without you.
