Medical Assisting
Our Medical Assisting Program is offered as either a 20-month day program or as a 24-month evening program that culminates in an Associate of Science Degree. Following program completion, the graduate can perform front office administrative tasks, assist the physician in the patient exam room, and collect, process laboratory specimens, and function as a crucial member of the team that shares the administrative responsibilities of operating a medical facility. The program is intended for students who have a high school diploma or equivalent and who wishes to enter the allied health field. The program is delivered using a blended format: theory course instruction is online and lab course instruction is on campus. Both day and evening programs include a 10-week day externship in a patient care setting. After completing the Medical Assisting core coursework, graduates can earn a Diploma and enter the field of Medical Assisting while they continue their education through a fully online format to complete the Associate of Science Degree.
Medical Coding and Billing
Our Medical Coding and Billing Diploma Program is a 14-month program culminates in a diploma. Following completion, the graduate can codify patient medical information for reimbursement purposes using dedicated classification-system software. The program is intended for students who have a high school diploma or equivalent and who wish to enter the medical coding and billing field. The program is delivered using a blended format: theory course instruction is online and lab course instruction is on campus. Graduates can become a desirable candidate for positions in the field of Medical Coding and Billing.
Medical Coders and Billers work in a variety of settings including hospitals, clinics, physicians offices, healthcare agencies, and insurance and managed care providers, among others.
