Welcome to City College Hollywood
City College Hollywood, which is located in Hollywood, Florida between Fort Lauderdale and Miami, is conveniently situated on Taft St just west of the Ronald Reagan Turnpike. Students may choose from four different Associate of Science degree programs including Medical Assisting, Medical Billing & Coding, Emergency Medical Services, and Business Management.
Medical Assisting Program
The Medical Assisting major provides students with the opportunity to develop clinical, laboratory, and the clerical skills required to be successful in employment in a health care facility. Students receive extensive core didactic medical science courses and clinical training giving them the required knowledge to successfully pass their certification exam.
Emergency Medical Technician and Paramedics
The EMS major combines Emergency Medical Technician and Paramedics courses, inclusive of clinical externships in hospitals, ambulance services and fire rescue services. Graduates are prepared with the knowledge, skills and professionalism necessary to obtain certification as an Emergency Medical Technician and Paramedic to practice the art and science of out-of-hospital medicine in conjunction with medical direction.
Curriculum is provided by the United States Government. Additional training in biological, chemical and hazardous materials is included.
You will receive hands-on EMS training in South Florida's busiest trauma centers, Fire Rescue Departments and Ambulance Services. Complete your EMS Degree in 21 months.

Students will also have the opportunity to apply their classroom knowledge to actual work experiences while on a 150 hour externship at a College approved site. Externship sites include various Physicians practices such as Internal Medicine, Family Practice, Cardiology and Health Clinics.
As a proctor site for NCCT, National Center for Competency Testing, City College graduates in Allied Health in Medical Assisting will qualify to sit for the National Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA) examination and the Phlebotomy certification
Medical Office Administration
The Medical Office Administration major with a Track in Insurance Billing and Coding provides students with the necessary background, knowledge, and specialized skills for a career in the medical billing and coding profession. Secretarial and administrative skills are emphasized providing graduates with the opportunity to qualify for entry level opportunities such as Medical Coding Clerk, Medical Billing Specialist, Medical Records Clerk and Medical Office Assistant.
Students in this program have the option of enhancing their academics by signing up for an Industry Practicum, where students fulfill 90 hours in an approved externship site to practice their didactic studies.
As a proctor site for NCCT, National Center for Competency Testing, City College graduates in Allied Health in Medical Office Administration with a track in Billing and Coding will qualify to sit for the National Certified Insurance and Coding Specialist (NCICS).

Management
The management curriculum encompasses many different areas. You will study a wide variety of subjects such as principle of management, human resource management, accounting, and principle of marketing. You will also become proficient in communication skills and practical managing techniques in an organizational setting. You will study management with a focus on tomorrow, so that you will be prepared for corporate life in the future.
