Bachelor of Fine Arts, Animation: 3D (Online)

With Three-Dimensional Animation, computers take center stage. While you`ll still be drawing your characters and scene, your pen will actually be a stylus, mouse, and keyboard. You`ll start with the essential skills of life drawing, composition, and character design, but you`ll have much more emphasis on the 3D techniques of modeling, texturing, and lighting. You`ll learn to mimic reality as closely as possible, down to the shadow on a lamppost or how a gentle breeze would affect the furry coat of a Labrador. You`ll study a variety of applications used in the industry, including Photoshop, Maya, Lightwave 3D, Solo, Combustion, AfterEffects and more. By the time you graduate, you`ll be well prepared to enter this exciting and expanding field.

Bachelor of Fine Arts, Interior Design (Online)

As a RMCAD student in any major, you`ll be provided with two things we view as vital to your success: a strong core of Liberal and Foundation Studies courses; and a faculty composed of working artists and designers from the top of their chosen field. Our Interior Design department is not about decorating. Our designers are leaders, helping their clients to create spaces that are as safe, functional, and sustainable as they are beautiful. In addition to classes in textiles, materials, and lighting, you`ll take courses that cover building codes, cost estimating, contracts, and Computer Aided Design that provide the technical and business skills vital to your success as a professional interior designer. We also offer a Specialization in Green Design to those students who want to make an official commitment to creating sustainable design. The special courses you`ll take will teach you about alternative energy sources, resource conservation, and how to build a truly `green` portfolio.

Bachelor of Fine Arts, Interior Design - Green Design Area of Specialization (Online)

While all of our Interior Design courses use green practices whenever possible, you can opt to take your environmental commitment further by choosing our Green Design Area of Specialization. This unique program gives you a professional leg up¬—since the demand for sustainable design is growing every day¬—and the reassurance that your designs won’t harm people or the environment. The BFA – Green Design Area of Specialization (Online) course will cover sustainable materials and methods for construction and interior applications. You’ll learn about alternative energy sources, resource conservation, and how to build a truly “green” portfolio. As one of the few dedicated Green Interior Design programs in the country, RMCAD grads have a distinct advantage over their competitors when it comes to finding jobs in a culture that is increasingly dedicated to the practices of sustainability.

Individual Attention and Artistic Freedom

Some nationwide institutes call themselves "art schools," but art - by definition - isn't mass-produced or pre-packaged. Rocky Mountain College of Art + Design fosters creativity and individual aesthetics. The average RMCAD class is no bigger than 13 students, so personal attention is always freely available.

Animation students can choose between a drawing concentration (2D) or an advanced software concentration (3D). Art education majors can specialize in painting, illustration, or sculpture. Fine arts majors can elect a series of independent paths - including photography. In short, all students are nurtured in RMCAD's uniquely supportive environment.

Informed Creativity and Career Preparation

It's no secret that careers in the art world are highly competitive. Breaking into a solid career requires experience, networking, and of course - a great education. Rocky Mountain emphasizes "deep learning" as the cumulative effect of its curriculum. Digital sculpture, motion animation, sound design, and other high-tech competencies lend marketable substance to students' innate style.

Thanks to their world class portfolios and their exciting internships, RMCAD graduates stand apart from other art school students. Maybe that's why the school's overall career placement rate exceeds 80%.

Global Awareness

RMCAD's campus is literally and figuratively green - complete with a vegetable garden, a recycling program, and a commitment to earth-friendly policies.

RMCAD's interior design students can specialize in green design - a resource-efficient discipline that incorporates sustainable materials and earth-friendly technologies. Green design is attractive to an increasing number of private and commercial clients, who are environmentally conscious and mindful of energy-saving opportunities.
